Represent PA invests $50K more in women candidates across state

PHILADELPHIA, October 13, 2020 – With just three weeks remaining before this year’s general election, there are races across the state in need of a final boost of cash to get the word out. After evaluating various endorsements, polls and media campaigns from its existing pool of women candidates, Represent PA has invested $50,000 of additional funds, taking its total investment this election cycle to over $500,000. “To decide on our allocations, we have continued to discuss polls with the SDCC and HDCC, to ensure we are making wise investments,” said Christine Jacobs, Executive Director of Represent PA. “We also coordinate with Emily’s List, Turn PA Blue and other groups to sort through the candidates.” Many district polls are showing bigger numbers for Vice President Joe Biden, so Represent PA’s endorsed candidates gain both push and pull from these relationships. “Polls are moving up for most of our endorsees,” Jacobs said. Represent PA has endorsed over 50 women, across 25 counties in Pennsylvania with the goal of flipping both the state House and Senate. About Represent PA Getting its start in 2014, Represent PA helps progressive women claim their seat at the table. Represent PA focuses on investing in democratic women candidates for the Pennsylvania House and Senate. We’re leading the way in PA for women to create a reflective democracy. We are building our “mutual fund” for elections – raising money, analyzing races and candidates – to invest where we can challenge the status quo. Today, Represent PA focuses on paving the way for progressive women so that tomorrow those voices will shape government in Harrisburg and Washington.
