August 2021 Newsletter

It's been a productive summer at Represent PA! We brought on a new Operations Manager to fill our only paid, part-time position here at Represent. As well, ever since the new census data was released, we've been busily preparing for when the new district lines are officially drawn out across the state, so we can start planning for the 2022 election cycle.

Represent PA has been busy with several Breakfast Briefings in the last few months. In one, we heard from Senators Carolyn Committa and Amanda Cappelletti on the environment and environmental justice. In another briefing, we heard from guest speakers Kathryn Kolbert and Julie F. Kay, who are co-authors of the new book Controlling Women: What we must do now to save reproductive freedom. Finally, in a third briefing, Represent PA's Executive Team spoke on different issues pertaining to how our PA state legislature is failing us, such as education, environment, gun violence prevention, equity, and more.

Stay updated with Represent by attending our upcoming Breakfast Briefings! There's one coming up on Aug. 31 titled Hitting the Trails Again: Hear from two 2020 candidates.

As always, early money is key in supporting Democratic and progressive women candidates across the state. Those who donate at the Endorsement Level ($1200/year) or higher are invited to join the Endorsement Committee, where they help make critical decisions on which candidates Represent PA will invest in.

Thanks, and stay cool out there!
