Candidate Spotlight: Erin McCracken

Erin McCracken is a mother, musician, small business owner and community organizer in rural central Pennsylvania. Her interest in activism and politics began while a student at Penn State, volunteering in the Centre County Women’s Resource Center. After earning a degree in American Studies, Erin continued to advocate for women in the criminal justice and foster care systems. She realized that this was her passion and pursued a master’s degree in Public Administration and Social Work. She went on to co-found the West Virginia Economic Justice Coalition, which linked environmental groups, labor unions and campus activists to stand up to corporate abuse in small communities. Erin wants to use her experience with social justice and community organizing to better represent her neighbors in Harrisburg. She believes it’s time for a change. Erin wants to use her public service as the representative for district 171, bringing much needed progress to her constituency.
