October 29, 2018

As Represent PA heads into the final week of campaigning, it has broken its fundraising record, raising $200,000.

PHILADELPHIA — Today, Represent PA, the only organization in Pennsylvania investing in progressive democratic women candidates for the Pennsylvania State Legislature in Harrisburg, confirmed record-breaking numbers ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. The organization is set to have an historic year at nearly all levels of engagement: fundraising, endorsements and victories.

“We're at an unprecedented time for women in politics in PA," said Christine Jacobs, executive director of Represent PA. "Come January, there will be an historic number of women in elected office because of the funds Represent has raised to help progressive women candidates across the finish line.”

“We started this organization and raised $20,000 four years ago. Then we raised $60,000 two years ago. This year we’ve raised $200,000, allowing us to endorse 40 candidates. We’ve always had a goal to increase the amount of funds we raised and gave away. There's no going back — we’re thrilled."

Represent PA

Getting its start in 2013, Represent PA has been helping progressive women claim their seat at the table. Represent PA is the only organization in Pennsylvania focused on investing in progressive women candidates for the Pennsylvania House and Senate. Represent PA is leading the way in PA for women to create a reflective democracy. With 80% of its donors being new to political giving, Represent PA is raising money, analyzing races and candidates – to invest where it can challenge the status quo. Today, Represent PA is focused on paving the way for progressing women so that tomorrow those voices will shape government in Harrisburg and Washington.
