Breakfast Briefing – Tackling disinformation campaigns and winning
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Represent PA on February 9 at 8:30 am when Bridget Todd, Communication Director for UltraViolet joins us to discuss disinformation campaigns targeting women candidates and electeds. Bridget explores the intersection of internet culture and communities of color on iHeartRadio's critically acclaimed podcast, There Are No Girls on the Internet and will share her insights about these disinformation campaigns and potential strategies to counteract these hurtful campaigns, helping educate Represent PA supporters about how to be activists.
UltraViolet is a powerful and rapidly growing community of people mobilized to fight sexism and create a more inclusive world that accurately represents all women, from politics and government to media and pop culture. UltraViolet is a community of one million people that drives feminist cultural and political change. Through people power and strategic advocacy, UltraViolet works to improve the lives of women and girls of all identities and backgrounds, and all people impacted by sexism, by dismantling discrimination and creating a cost for sexism.
UltraViolet has waged many campaigns as a rapid response to issues affecting women today and their ability to call many to action helps bring the spotlight that drives change.
Join us as Christine Jacobs, Executive Director for Represent PA facilitates a discussion with Bridget about how we can all join in to combat gender and racially biased narratives, by funding ads, research and offensive strategies that counter biased narratives on social media and online in real time.
These briefings benefit from participant questions. If you plan to join us, please send any questions you might have in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing you in cyberspace!
