Breakfast Briefing - Economic justice: Equal pay for women
Time & Location
About the Event
Join Represent PA on March 18 at 8:30 am when we are joined by three powerhouse State Reps -- Donna Bullock (195), Jennifer O’Mara (165) and Melissa Shusterman (157) who want to ensure that all of us can earn a good living and live with dignity, no exceptions, even when corporations have historically paid women less than white men for the same work.
These legislators will discuss this new legislation, focused on prohibiting discriminatory gender-based pay, placing new penalties on employers using such discriminatory wage practices.
- prohibit discriminatory gender-based pay
- place new penalties on employers using such discriminatory wage practices
- create the Equal Pay Commission to investigate and study factors causing pay disparity
Women officially outnumber men in workplaces across the nation, according to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics. It’s time we move forward and ensure all Pennsylvania workers receive equal pay for equal work and eradicate wage disparity once and for all.
Christine Jacobs, Executive Director of Represent PA will moderate the program. Please join us.
These briefings benefit from participant questions. If you plan to join us, please send any questions you might have in advance to firstname.lastname@example.org.
